News like this falls squarely in the "no duh," category. Halo 3 is going to sell like mad, but how many units exactly is still up in the air. Michael Pachter, analyst for Wedbush Morgan, released his predictions for the Halo 3 launch and they are very generous.
"...sell over 3 million U.S. units in its first 12 days".
Three million in the first twelve days would be quite a feat for Master Chief. With the amazing fanbase and devoted buyers Halo 3 has behind it, no one should be surprised at these numbers. The big question though is if Halo 3 will break the record currently held by Spider-Man 3 in terms of making the most money within a twenty-four hour time frame.
Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian thinks so, stating that Halo 3 is going to make over two hundred million within the first twenty four hours. Touché Spider-Man.

Halo 3 will easily crush Spider-Man 3's record.
Spider man should go jump off the empire state building because the MC will beat him down.
I will not be buying it though so that's one copy that won't sell.
Well, the Spiderman movies sucked, so something that's even remotely decent could beat them easily if they have the fanbase. And Halo 3 has the fanbase.
Spider-Man 1 was a really good movie, 2 was alright, but 3 was just downright crappy. The ending with the apology was just such a let-down.
Spider-Man 1 and 2 were awesome. 3...
Hmm... Halo seems to be on the same path to this point... 1 is great, 2 is good but not as great... Come on, 3!
I think that even if Halo 3 was a bunch of MC Lego Mii's running around with plasma swords it will still break records and garner perfect scores in all of the game magazines. While i love the Halo universe (single player only) and the books, comics etc; the multi-player in part 2 is way overrated what is ultimately a twitch game with players berating each other. Will 3 be different?
While the movie may not have been the best, spiderman 3 put it into a lot of people's minds that they wanted to be him. Halo, while a dominant gaming force, has not made that jump. The commercials are doing nothing to make people say - YES! I need me some of that!!!! I think it will beat SM3 just because the legions of dedicated Halo fans will make it happen but the question still has to be asked ... how did SM 3 beat out games like Halo 2, God of War 2, Kingdom Hearts 2?
