Big bash parties for Halo 3 next week

Category: Industry, Posted: 09/19/2007 at 06:02PM CDT by Brian Post, Content Contributor

Halo partyAny fan anticipating the release of the third and final installment of Bungie's epic Halo trilogy knows very well that it's just a mere six days until they finish the fight.

In celebration of its release, multiple big name retailers (such as Circuit City, Best Buy, and Gamestop) are hosting parties in select locations throughout the country next Tuesday at midnight.

Perhaps the biggest launch party is happening on the East Coast, with the Best Buy located on 5th Ave in New York (just a mere five blocks from Times Square). A few lucky individuals waiting in line will be selected to play the game in the store early on Monday afternoon through midnight.

Not only will those few lucky fans be one of the first few to get their hands on the title, but well known celebrities will be arriving onto the scene every hour to demonstrate their first person shooter playing skills as they take fans on in the game's multiplayer mode.

Better yet, a few Bungie employees will also make an appearance at the event, as will a few professional athletes that have yet to be revealed.

With similar events taking place in Los Angeles, Miami, and Seattle, it appears as though Microsoft is applying its best effort to make sure the game is as big of a deal that many make it out to be in the most exciting way possible.

I need to consider going to the midnight event at the store I pre-ordered at, or getting sleep and going first thing in the morning on Tuesday. Either way I managed to get out of work on Tuesday :P
It's funny, there is a mall with shopping centers on both sides of it (basically three EB/Gamestops within two blocks) and all three are having midnight openings.
