Some bad news folks, the promised Crysis single-player demo that was planned for release on September 25th has been delayed by a month and a day till October 26th.
So what will non-Halo fans do on without the Crysis demo? One thing you can do is compare your PC specs with the official (unofficial) Crysis requirements and weep in joy or sadness.
On the bright side, the planned surprise has been revealed and the single-player demo will be released with the Sandbox 2 game editor. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli spills the beans in this forum post:
"Hi everyone,
We have some news to announce.
First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007. We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.
Now the good news - the big surprise. The SP demo will be released with our CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor, giving the community the opportunity to get familiar with the vast amount of tools they will have at their disposal four weeks before we ship, something we have always wanted to do.
This is an exciting time for us at the studio as the development of Crysis comes to an end and we are only a few weeks from Gold Master. We appreciate your patience and are looking forward to getting Crysis into your hands on November 16th.
Thanks
Cevat Yerli
CEO & Crytek"

Well, I suppose I can wait an extra month for something so awesome... OH WHO AM I KIDDING WITH MY AWESOME LIES?!!!
Wow this stinks... and it was so close to the 25th!
it's not like i could even play it or anything...but they should have announced this sooner....."it's nearly ready.....oh wait theres a minor bug...lets take a month or so to fix it."
I bet it was EA's fault. Those meddling b*****s.
All i want to know is when will it be coming to the PS3/360? Rather play it on a console.
^PC rocks, consoles suck (except Wii)
^^You suck. :P
Anyway, not too bothered, unless a new motherboard appears from nowhere.
Ditto. Except a entirely new computer would do it for me.
