Architects of the West Kingdom Video Review

Architects of the West Kingdom

Score: 4 out of 5Architects of the West Kingdom, from Renegade Game Studios and designers Shem Phillips and SJ Macdonald of Garphill Games, is a unique resource gathering, action-selection and action-development game featuring the same beautiful art style as seen in the North Sea trilogy.

In Architects of the West Kingdom, players use a large pool of workers to bolster various actions around the board, improving the efficiency of those actions on their way to building as many buildings as they can before other players do the same and trigger the end game. But players can capture their opponents’ worker pools to impede their progress, throwing them in jail to earn silver of their own, so there is a degree of worker-management and tension surrounding this interesting set of mechanisms.

As a middleweight Euro option, this one is a solid choice, and recommended by GamerNode.
