Awesomenauts to be May’s PlayStation Plus game of the month

Sony has revealed its PlayStation Plus lineup for May, which includes titles like Trine 2 and Rock of Ages. But headlining next month’s group of games is the upcoming multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) release, Awesomenauts.

The side-scrolling action title will receive the game of the month distinction, meaning PlayStation Plus subscribers can get it for free on May 1.

Jasper Koning, game designer at Ronimo Games, commented on the recent news.

“We’re thrilled to see that Sony liked the game so much that they made it game of the month,” he said. “It’s great news for everybody, because it ensures there will be a great community of players to play against right from the start.”

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
