The "Top X Anticipated Games of 20XX" has become an annual requirement for just about everyone in videogame journalism nowadays; this article proves that I am apparently no different in that regard. To be at least somewhat unique, I've decided to split the typical top ten list into two parts this year: sequels and original titles. More predictable and less exciting than original IP, sequels come first in this two-part feature. Behold my most anticipated franchise incrementations of 2009:
This one takes me way back to my childhood, when I, like GN's OLD SKOOL columnist George Brandes, used to run the Street Fighter II machine at the Playland Arcade and hear things like, "OH! Shorty just whipped yo' ass!" on a fairly consistent basis (although Microsoft's Ken Lobb admittedly beat me to a pulp when I challenged him at E3). Street Fighter IV features incredible graphics and online match-making to go along with its time-tested gameplay, and all 12 warriors from the SFII roster make a return to the arena, along with five brand new characters and eight veterans from other games in the series. New focus attacks and ultra combos, along with all of the special techniques from earlier games, will help to make Street Fighter IV the epitome of the 2D fighter.

Im looking to armed assualt 2, and operation flashpoint 2.
Yeah, Op Flash 2 should be good, it looks amazing and as long as the new devs keep the spirit of the original alive I reckon it'll be a hit.
Ehm seriously.... i can agree with assassin creed though the first one wasnt very good....
But seriously where are game such a Diablo 3? Starcraft 2? DoW2? The Sims 3 anyone :P ?
Simple answer, Leo: Eddie's not a PC gamer.
PC gamer or not, but, dude, Blizzard sequels are already guaranteed to be the biggest hits of any year. Starcraft 2 is one of the biggest titles of all time in anticipation, and Diablo is not far behind...
Though I'm not sure either one will be out next year.
Short answer - I never "anticipate" rts, regardless of platform. They just sort of happen.
Longer answer:
Diablo 3 - Excited about it, just not as much as the others.
Starcraft 2 - I played a lot of the original, and the novelty wore off. I'm sure it will be a fine game, I'm just not drooling in anticipation for it.
DoW2 - Just not interested. I'm more of a Warhammer Fantasy kind of guy.
Sims 3 - Cool, another Sims, but it's hard to get excited about.
PC gamer or not (and I play plenty on my PC), these are mostly games for tinkerers, something I'm not much of.
God of War and Bioshock are what I'm looking forward to. Oh yeah...
It's all ps3...
Sure makes me wish I had one to play those exclusives on.
