Best PC Game:
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Bethesda just about outdid itself with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It is one of the most complete gaming experiences to come along in quite some time. Offering stunning visuals, an epic score, and an expansive world to immerse oneself in, it is hard not to choose this game as best PC game of 2006. With each hour of gameplay comes new discovery in Cyrodiil, and another level of interest and enjoyment in this open-ended oasis of gaming.
HM: Company of Heroes

Best Wii Game:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The definitive "killer app" for Nintendo's newest console, Twilight Princess continues the legacy of the Zelda franchise with an excellent update to that time-tested formula. One of the lengthiest Zelda games to date, it delivers and re-delivers in level design, gameplay variety, and sheer size. Multiple dungeons, weapons and items put the focus on gameplay, and the unconventional plot keeps players eager to continue. The Wii-specific controls become of secondary concern in this epic adventure, but on any console, it is a must-have for any gamer.
HM: Wii Sports

Best PS3 Game:
Resistance: Fall of Man
On a console rife with ports and almost-there titles, Resistance is an easy choice for best PS3 game. While we'll have to wait until late 2007 for offerings that will begin to fully exploit the PS3's raw power, Resistance is an outstanding launch title, and may go down as one of the best launch games in Sony's history. Besides being a must-buy for anyone with a PS3, the sci-fi, alternate history shooter is worth a look over by any FPS fan.
HM: Fight Night Round 3

Best Xbox 360 Game:
Gears of War
Gears of War
came to us with an immense amount of pressure riding on it, with rumblings of Xbox's holy grail, Halo, heard in the background, as well as the prospect of facing not one, but two new console releases. Yet, Gears still managed to do everything it set out to do, delivering nothing short of an amazing experience that must be had by all gamers. While it's frequently knocked for its lack of innovation, Gears is one of those rare games which manage to do everything right--allowing you to easily enjoy every facet of its immersive world.
HM: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
