Halo: Reach added to Video Games Live lineup

Halo: Reach

Video Games Live, the acclaimed videogame music concert, has now added Halo: Reach to their lineup of soundtracks to be performed at shows this year.

The Halo: Reach score will be making its debut at the Seattle show on January 22. Composing team Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori will be on hand for the concert and the meet-and-greet afterwards to sign autographs and take pictures.

Martin O’Donnell, who serves as audio director at Bungie, expressed his excitement at being included in the concert.

"It’s a real thrill and honor to have our music be a part of such a successful event like Video Games Live," said O’Donnell. "To know that people around the world are able to experience our music live in such a creative and artistic way is very exciting for both myself and Mike."

Considering Halo’s long history of well-renowned music, this seems like a great addition to Video Games Live. Tickets for the first live performance can be purchased here, with 30 more shows planned for 2011.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
