Want to write about games? (Of course you do, or you wouldn't be here!)

Writing about games for a living is a very, very hard thing to do. With so much competition it's almost impossible to get a spot at IGN, GameSpot, 1UP, etc. How do you do it, then? Why, by starting out on smaller-but-popular sites like GamerNode! GamerNode isn't quite big enough yet to give regular pay (it's getting there, though), but it's one of the most frequently visited independently run gaming sites on the Internet.

If you write for GamerNode you aren't guaranteed to earn money, but you are guaranteed to have some great experience to put on your resume and any future applications.

We're also working hard at getting this site to the point where it can finance a small writing staff and all the other essentials.

We are currently looking for more people for the following positions:

Reporter

GamerNode is seeking diligent and hard-working games industry enthusiasts to write daily news articles of 150 words or more about the most interesting, important, relevant, and timely current events in gaming.

At the moment, this is a volunteer position, as are all others at GN, so "enthusiast" is the key word here. You should be the type of person who scans the internet daily for all the latest news, rumors, events, and announcements, finding the juciest stories and delving further to unearth exclusive content for GN's readers, and should be proficient at communicating information in interesting and efficient ways.

Columnist

Have something on your mind? Do you fancy yourself an expert in any particular area of the industry? Do you have a lot to say? Then a column might be right up your alley.

GamerNode is interested in expanding our columns section with more weekly and biweekly columns on interesting topics in gaming, as well as general commentary on the industry as a whole. Again, we are seeking strong, creative writers with a penchant for extended discussion and analysis (or maybe just a witty and sarcastic voice) who feel comfortable and confident in thinking up new content week-in and week-out. If this is you, drop us a line.

Want to be part of the journey and push for further success (or just want some resume-building stuff)? Feel free to apply by sending a resume (if you have one), a little bit about yourself, and some writing samples (if you have any) to: jobs (REMOVE) @ (REMOVE) gamernode.com.

To submit individual pitches for feature articles and editorials, please contact us at submissions (REMOVE) @ (REMOVE) gamernode.com. Please be advised that no freelance submissions will receive monetary compensation, but you will get your work exposed to a wide audience and you will receive full credit for any article that is approved and published. There exists a possibility that similar articles to your own may already be in the works at GamerNode, and your submission here is an agreement that you fully understand such coincidences can occur, and you absolve GamerNode of all liability regarding theft or plagiarism.
