New Resident Evil 6 screens showcase co-op and skill trees

Capcom Japan has released a plethora of stills for its upcoming title Resident Evil 6. The new screenshots show off its new virtual currency that allows players to buy, upgrade, and sell weaponry and other items as well as the dynamic split-screen co-op that is available in the single-player game.

Much like customizable loadouts in several FPS titles, Resident Evil 6 contains skills in sets of three that accumulate to eight sets of skills when you have fully upgraded your character. Skills can be upgraded by using points, which are earned by playing through each stage and then can be spent in bulk at the end of each chapter.

Capcom recently announced that Resident Evil 6 will be available October 2 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
