SEGA announced today that they've hired handheld developer Planet Moon Studios to bring one of its old franchises back to life. This new game will be for the PSP, but it is currently unknown with which franchise they'll be working. After developing a few acclaimed PC and console games (MDK, Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Armed and Dangerous) Planet Moon moved on to develop solely for handhelds, namely Infected for the PSP.
SEGA is already working its voodoo to get some other franchises to rise from the dead. Sega Genesis Collection is heading to the PS2 and the PSP later this year, Totally Games is working with SEGA to bring another old brand back to life, and Secret Level will be bringing the next Golden Axe game to the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
