The Orange Box delayed on PS3

Category: PlayStation 3, Posted: 09/06/2007 at 07:42AM CDT by Eddie Inzauto, Senior Editor

Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2After a slew of delays have already weighed heavy on the spirits of eager Half-Life fans, Valve has once again announced that the Orange Box will ship later than expected. This time, however, the delay only applies to the PS3 version of the bundle.

The EA-distributed five-game package, which includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal, will still be shipping on October 9th for both the PC and the Xbox 360, but will arrive "a couple of weeks later" on Sony's system.

Valve's director of marketing Doug Lombardi, who issued the statement, did not cite any particular reason for the delay, nor did he give a concrete release date for the PS3 version. Various online retailers have the game listed for a November 13th release, however, which is clearly more than two weeks later.

Having to deal with EA must be ridiculously annoying. How soon before Valve can get Steam deployed on the consoles as well, or at least some form of digital distribution of their games?

I wonder what "a couple of weeks later" is in valve time. December..? >_>
