Lots of controller (or interestingly shaped controller housing) news is coming our way from Tokyo these days. Nintendo has issued a press release describing the Wii Zapper and included game, Link's Crossbow Training, plus a photo of the bundle's packaging.
According to the release, Link's Crossbow Training is designed as a tool to aquaint gamers with the peripheral before they jump into any of the other games that support it. Even so, the game will feature a total of 27 stages and three game styles.
The three modes are described as follows:
Target Shooting: In target-shooting rounds, players shoot bull's-eyes as they pop up on the screen. In early stages, targets are stationary. As the game difficulty increases in later levels, the targets move. Hitting the center of the bull's-eye nets more points, and hitting targets in succession without missing earns combo multipliers. Link can aim anywhere on the screen.
Defender: In defender rounds, players remain stationary but can look and aim in all directions - sometimes even in a full 360 degrees - by aiming off screen. Hordes of enemies assault Link, and he must fight them off. These battles have a great deal of variety, from fighting off skeletons in a desert to defending a wagon from boar-riding Bokoblins.
Ranger: In ranger rounds, players can move throughout the level using the control stick and aim anywhere they want by aiming the Wii Zapper wherever they want to look. In these missions, Link storms enemy encampments, fights his way through a forest and seeks out his foes while exploring the environments.
So is this the Super Scope...3?

A Super Scope 3?!! DO WANT!!!
I didn't even know there was a Super Scope 2, but the Defender mode sounds like one of the original Super Scope games to me.
Did that screen actually come from Nintendo? It looks somewhat Photoshopped.
It won't be long before we hear someone moaning that this can be used to teache potential snipers to shoot the heads off policeman....
Super Scope 3 would be half of Super Scope 6
Is this the one people mentioned looked too much like an actual gun? I hope not. That sire looks more like something from star trek than an actual gun.
Damn, nowonder there is so much gun crime around the world today. [/jack]
Haven't played any light gun games in ages (since the dreamcast in fact!) so I will be looking forward to a chargin mah light guns.

Yes, sadly it is
Bleh i dont think i would ever use it .. i would buy it put it to the side and be tooo lazy to pick it up and use it lol
Granted on a wii your suposed to be active ... i cheat i totaly lay down on the bed while playing hahahha
Teaching marksmanship ... I know there are a lot of different laser markers and scopes for modern weaponry but I have never seen one that paints a cross hair on the target. I think all of those people who thinks this look slik e areal gun should be taken out to a police walkthrough course and run it with a standard issue. They would probably see how ridiculous their claims are. Looks like a real gun ... teaches marksmanship ... GEEZ!
