According to the folks over at GamePro France, Sony is gearing up to deliver what they believe to be a huge announcement on October 12th. In case you have lost track of time, that's only 11 days away, and only a month-and-a-half before the onset of retail's most intense season.
The most notable line in the article can be loosely translated as follows:
"Indeed, it seems that the October 12, 2007 date was chosen by Sony to make an important enough impact to be qualified in-house as a “big-bang."
This could suggest any number of possibilities, but the one on everybody's mind is, of course, a Playstation 3 price drop. Will the company finally make the entry barrier to PS3 play a little less daunting with an across-the-board price cut? I sure hope so, because $600 is not getting any easier to fork over, no matter how much time goes by.

Hooray the big bang is that the ps3 will now be 5 dollars cheaper! haha, it better be something serious because there is still a big price difference in the xbox 360 and PS3, and the xbox 360 is still hard to afford.
''We're releasing.... A patch....................................................................... that fixes two exploits in the ps3 firmware'' :P
Playstation Home debut maybe?
That picture takes me back about ten years...
If this isn't a price drop or an announcement that there's a firmware update that will allow the PS3 to transform into a giant robot or give me magical powers, I'm totally gonna overthrow Sony.
either that or they are releasing free pr0n downloads to make up for its huge price lol
