Official Crysis system requirements!

crysis1Late last month, we reported on the official (unofficial) Crysis minimum requirements but like the title said, they were, well, official and unofficial. But to blow all the doubts away, EA and Crytek officially revealed the minimum and recommended system requirements for Crysis today, yay!

Of course, the PC demo has been delayed till later this month, specifically October 26th, so with these requirements revealed, you got a few weeks to get your necessary upgrades. Without further ado, here are the system requirements for Crysis:

Minimum System Requirements:

OS - Windows XP or Windows Vista

Processor - 2.8 GHz or faster (XP) or 3.2 GHz or faster* (Vista)

Memory - 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)

Video Card -256 MB**

Hard Drive - 12GB

Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible

* Supported Processors: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista) or faster, Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista) or faster, AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or faster.

** Supported chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or greater. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Integrated chipsets are not supported. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required.

Recommended System Requirements:

OS - Windows XP / Vista

Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

Memory - 2.0 GB RAM

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

Not a chance for me, now I'll have to nag my dad to get a new motherboard, that he wants, but I also want now.

I'm betting I will run at reasonable settings. Even though my 8800GTS 320 meg doesn't quite match spec. the overclock will help a lot. I am concerned about the low memory of 320 though....

Well then... That means there'll definitely be some more optimization of the resources that will have occurred since the beta, no?

That my friends, is why i don't buy PC games. At least when this comes out for the console, it might not looks as good, but it will be universal support.
I have witnessed many of my friends that have really high end PCs and still have to upgrade to play the latest games (like Crysis).......no thanks.

Despite all claims I hear to the contrary, I stand on my opinion PC gaming is obscenely, OBSCENELY expensive to stay on (or anywhere near) the curve.
