Of the three consoles, the Nintendo Wii is farthest behind when it comes to the online realm. While the Virtual Console has posted impressive numbers in the sales of old Nintendo games, it still doesn't shake the nagging feeling that Nintendo could be doing so much more.
Luckily, Nintendo has finally realized this as well and as a result is making some needed additions to their online plans. There is nothing revolutionary being included, just features we have become accustomed too thanks to Xbox Live and PSN.
The Wii will now have a service similar to the DS Download Station where demos will be available to download right to the Wii. Accompanying this will be Nintendo's initiative to find new and innovative ways to utilize the online environment as well as a call service which will help Wii owners connect to the web.

i cant wait for the ds demo station, and wii downloadable features for in game use. my only concern is memory use. SD cards can hold only so much...
Love the demo idea, they must have been scouting out this with the MP3 Channel...No demo but there was info on a game released soon
bout time!
I think you meant to use "to" instead of "Too" in the last sentence of the second paragraph. Sorry to be nit-picky, but that's a real pet-peeve of mine. Anyways, this is great news for fans of online gaming (such as myself) and fans of the Wii (such as myself).
I might actually leave my Wii connected to the net all the time if this comes about. At the moment I have to move it into my computer room to do updates and get games on VC cause the only wireless I have is a usb pen thing I have to plug into my PC. I might get a wireless router for this (and so my gf can use her laptop anywhere in the house)
