Late last month, a leaked PS2 copy of Manhunt 2 made its way around the Internet and Take-Two Interactive wasn't too pleased about it. According to GamePolitics, it was revealed today that the leak came from a former Sony Europe employee. Yikes.
Take-Two released a brief statement today regarding the situation:
"Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that a former employee of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has acknowledged his responsibility for the unauthorized online distribution of an unrated play-test version of Manhunt 2 submitted for the European PAL PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system."
There are still details that haven't been revealed, such as who the person is, how he stole Manhunt 2's code and his punishment. But releasing copyrighted material, especially for unreleased games, should garner a pretty serious action against the person who did it.
