So by now, Crysis has left a reasonably sized impression in the PC gaming world. Hot off its success, Crytek must be pretty happy with its sophomore title -- but they're not stopping there. In fact, Crytek is all set to begin work on Crysis 2.
InCrysis has the word from Steven Bender, lead animator and animation manager at Crytek, about the first details for Crysis 2.
"According to him, the developer's attention will be even more focused on graphics. There will be numerous improvements regarding textures (especially facial textures) and 3D-animations. Their ambitious aim is to push the game's visuals to an advanced level, that could be considered near photorealistic movie quality."
Surprise, surprise, Crysis 2 will continue to push the visual envelope! (There are some minor spoilers in the actual article, so be warned.)

I'm shocked. *gasp!*
Hell we joke about them focusing on graphic, but they do one hell of a job. They have some crazy programmers working there, optimising and optimising all the graphical details, to a point where they have one of the best engines out there.
Hopefully SOME plot will get mixed in.
Who needs plot when you have purty picshures?
But really I cant Imagine how awesome that'll be
They should focus on NOT bringing out buggy games.
Hey, levels that complex are pretty hard to playtest you know, vincent the noob.
Level size aside, there are some major bug issues with the game. I'm not saying I'm anti-Crysis, its one of my top favorites up there with HL and HL2, but the various bugs are annoying. Being killed by a piece of tin metal roof laying on the ground hampers my killing mood.
I cannot wait for the second Crysis to come out. The left the first one off with such a cliff hanger, I was almost angry. I've never played a game that was that blown open at the end.
*gasp!* Killed by tin metal on the ground? This sounds like the Chinese take-out food box from Half-Life 2! Step on it and fall an unreasonable distance (apparently) to your death on the ground not three inches below you!
Or is this death somehow different?
