An update to The Cult of Rapture mentions that the BioShock PC and Xbox 360 patch will be released next week. The widescreen woes will be fixed, among other bugs.
But here's some good news, the planned BioShock downloadable content will be free! The DLC will bundled with the PC patch and released separately over Xbox Live. It's currently unknown if the free DLC will be a one time deal or a consistent release.
As of writing, additional plasmids will be added, along with the ability to disable Vita-Chambers.
Ken Levine hinted that he wanted the DLC to be pretty beefy, so hopefully they don't disappoint. But I like free things so much, I'd be happy with some free downloadable Big Daddy armor.
In the meantime, we have to play the waiting game. Once the patch/DLC is released, that'll give me a good reason to replay BioShock... again.

Yay for DLC!!
way to go!!
Hmm... Maybe I'll give Bioshock another whirl when this arrives.
I'm very glad to see dlc to become so darn big, and often too. Go DLC!
Free DLC? What's the catch?
Free content is ALWAYS fun.
