After a surprising announcement two months ago, information about Street Fighter 4 has been rather mum lately. But today on 1UP, some new information was revealed, including the first in-game screenshot.
First, the gameplay will be primarily 2D, retain the classic 6-button controls and the game will include new moves, locations and gameplay features.
Returning from past rosters are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dhalsim, but the rest of the roster is unknown. Lastly, platforms weren't revealed but hints are pointing at PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
More information will be revealed in the January 2008 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. But in the meantime, hit the jump to see the screenshot!

Dhalsim?!
Well, regrdless, a new 2-D Street Fighter will make the little kid inside this one-time arcade-goer very happy.
Its like right in between! 2.5D!
That's quite the impressive package Ryu's delivering.
Oh, how nice of you to pick up on that... Anyways, it's quite impressive, what I'm seeing right now. It's definitely 3D, but I'll be damned if it doesn't look 2D!
Too bad I don't like Street Fighter, because this is looking pretty bad-ass right about now.
Archem, i played SF2TA, go me, and i loved it. I didnt play any other ones, and i think i might pick this up, urgh, if it drops to like 40, but god, ryu, thats, so, OUT there. *vomits*
Dhalsim is far to easy to win with, at least he was, with his ranged melee attacks.
