..."one nation, under Xbox, with gaming and online for all." Well, that's not really what Bungie pledged, but it might as well have been because it has reaffirmed its dedication to developing games only for the Xbox 360. In other words--no PS3, if you please.
Frank "Frankie" O'Connor of Bungie said, "We have no plans to work on any other platforms beyond 360 at this time."
Jonty Barnes, production director at Bungie remarked, "Microsoft have been good friends to us. You can see the strength of our relationship in Halo. We're really focused on continuing our collaboration in making the best games we can, and that right now is on 360."
Not too surprising, as Barnes mentioned, concerning the success of its 360 Halo games. But the PS3 is now on the upswing, and if it continues this trend, you can probably be assured that Bungie Studios will start making games for it too.

Booo, Exclusivity sucks.
Yeah... bring MGS4 to Xbox 360 :D
I can understand why they'd do this. Not only do they still have a very close relationship with Microsoft, but they've got about as much experience on the 360 as any developer out there. It would probably take some time for them to become proficient enough coding for the PS3 for them to put out a comparable product on it. They'll do it eventually if it looks like the money is there, but I think it'll take more than it would for another developer that hasn't been knee-deep in XBox development for the past... uh, some number of years that Bungie's been working on XBox development.
I don't know what the deal is here. For all we know there could still be some kind of timed exclusiveness with M$. Even if there isn't, there is no reason for them to stitch now anyway. Their core fan base is 360 based, and what Corvall said... and the 360 is the money maker at the moment.
Remember back when Bungie was a Mac developer who ported most of their games to windows? It was a while ago ..there were still sabre tooth tigers and dire wolves roaming North America. This kinda puts a damper on the hope Bungie would go back to those paleolithic multiplatform roots but as time goes on they may realize exclusives aren't good biz these days. Perhaps they just don't want to tell MS to screw off so soon after the divorce.
I'm actually kind of happy that they're sticking to what they know for now. I want the same quality games that they're known for, and the only way to guarantee that is for them to stay planted where they are until they're ready to move on. And besides, does it really need to make a leap to some other system just because people with a PS3 want them to?
Sellouts! No more Myth on the mac then. Gays.
I agree with pop, the only games that sell exculsively are well established franchises, zelda, mario, halo, and metal gear for example. I believe they will leave the exclusivity behind.
Yeah, if anyone expects Bungie exclusivity to last longer than a big, fat check from Sony, they're deluding themselves.
