Brain Challenge makes the jump to XBLA

Category: Xbox 360, Posted: 12/07/2007 at 04:55PM CST by Kelly Ng, Contributor

Brain CHallengeUsually the transition goes from console to mobile phone, resulting in a dumbed down shell of a game that shares nothing but a title and a gimmicky resemblance to the original. Gameloft, a leading mobile phone game developer is turning the tables.

The popular Brain Challenge game is coming off the phones and into Xbox Live Arcade. "Xbox Live Arcade is the perfect vehicle for us to expand out presence with players of all types" stated Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president of Publishing at Gameloft.

Brain Challenge has sold over 1.5 million units, killing time before haircuts and diverting attention from class since 2006. Brain Challenge claims to develop abilities in logic, math, memory and visual thinking all in a fun and entertaining way. I haven't tried it, but I guess I'll download the trial version and check it out.

Gameloft plans on expanding to the iPod, Nintendo DS and PC shortly after their debut on Xbox Live Arcade. Seriously though? Brain Challenge? How good could this game be?

I guess I'll find out after I try the demo.

Its pretty cool that the tables are turning. Mobile gaming is really on the rise anyway.

I agree with you, goat.

This game doesn't interest me, but it is cool to see it reversed. Only if the make it bigger and better, no slacking!

Cellphone to consoles port is an interesting development but the only cellphone games I've wanted to play are Doom rpg and Rifts :Promise of Power for the ngage of all platforms.
