You guys better appreciate this. You have no idea how long it took to resize and upload all of these one at a time*. Especially spanning a Friday night/Saturday morning. The things I do for you people...
For your enjoyment, here are the newest Grand Theft Auto 4 screenshots from Rockstar. There are boats, and people, and cars, and buildings and everything! If you click the tiny image a bigger one will magically open up in a new window. Screw whomever decided to make one of the new images an awkward shape compared to the others. Honestly, who sends out 17 screens in the exact same size, then tosses in one that's taller and narrower than all of the other ones? A prankster, that's who.
In case you've been sleeping under a rock and don't know what GTA4 is, it's obviously the next Grand Theft Auto game, and it's coming out sometime in early 2008 for the 360 and PS3. Since no one can mention GTA4 without saying this, I also have to make note that the 360 version is getting more stuff.
*I gave up on uploading at about image 7 and just made Ryan do it for me. But it still took a long time to get to 7 on my slow connection.
Yay! ^_^
The third one on the bottom left looks terrible, like it should be for the ps2, or maybe wii :)
i wasn't impressed at all with the trailer. the city looked amazing but the people looked like they would fit well in the ps2 version. hopefully they will be rendered better in the final release.
The graphics look all right, but that last trailer really just screams more of the same with a worse frame rate. I'm not that excited.
Better graphics, but still the same "style". Anyone else see this? They dont look super realistic, they still have that strange look to them. I don't really mind it at all.
The screenshots makes me worrrrrry about my graphic card .... if it will be released on PC ....
Requiem - I think you're looking at the animations, which also haven't improved one iota since GTA III.
All the people are bloody I've seen so far in trailers/screens are bloody ugly but I think its more a stylistic choice to seem "gritty" or something than a tech issue.
I think it looks stunning. Just as I've expected from the next GTA game. Thanks for the images :)
Am i the only person on the planet that thinks the GTA series is overrated? Those games are boring as hell
I am also not GTA fan. Along with Metal Gear, this is the next highly overrated game imho. Please don't string me up like a pinata and beat me senseless for this comment (lol)
These look WAY better than the trailer did. Kind of raised my hopes a bit. And Brendon, you really do too much. Gotta love you for it!
If that framerate isn't fixed in the end product, it will ruin the game. If that footage shows what it'll really be like, imagine how things will look when you start messing around--setting dozens of cars alight while helicopters and cop cars chase you down. There was slowdown in the GTA games on PS2 and Xbox at those moments, but otherwise framerate was good. With this as a baseline for GTAIV, we're screwed.
I could say a lot, but it's not worth the effort. This should sum it up well...
As if screen shots could ever convey what makes the series so much fun.
To compare graphics of a game like GTA to almost anything else is ridiculous. GTA offers so much environment and things to do in it. I'm looking at you Team Fortress donkey!
If you don't like GTA or think it's overrated, I'm cool with that. Everyone has different tastes. I'm not a fanboy, I waited for it all to come to XBOX when I could have easily got a PS2. I wasn't sold one the hype, I was sold on how much fun I had. I could pop in GTA3 right now and have a blast to this day.
Brendon, you mean you didn't use the "auto-loader" for these graphics? You could have done this in like 3 minutes...
Not really, just kidding. You get a cookie for all your hard work, though.
