Microsoft is "struggling" to meet 360 demand in UK

Let's face it. Nintendo probably secretly finds a lot of satisfaction in saying, "We're experiencing shortages with the Wii. We're reeeeeeally sorry!" But don't think that Nintendo is the only one who can chant the mantra of shortages. Microsoft is now claiming that the Xbox 360 is running scarce in the UK.
Stephen McGill, head of gaming and entertainment for UK Microsoft described the scene as somewhat desperate by saying, "...people are out there manically trying to find parking spaces to buy their Christmas presents and it sounds like Xboxes are on the list for a lot of people."
McGrill continued. "We're struggling to meet the demand from every retailer every week. I think we've probably done it better than some of our cohorts out there, but it's a weekly thing--we're getting stock in, we're getting it straight out to the retailers who need it. Obviously we've got three different varieties--we've got the Arcade, the main 360, and the Elite. They're going to different types of customers, and different retail outlets."
Is this hype or fact? Only our friends across the pond know for sure. Is McGrill speaking the truth, or is this a ploy to drum up sales for the Xbox 360?

Hype.
Microsoft can send any other Eurpean countries supply of Xboxes to the UK and no one would notice. Europe is SONY land.
Vinie - Well they hardly want to short-change other European countries.
That being said, you from the Kingdom? I doubt any American has any right to say anything.
But yeah, as far as gamers go, the market is completely segmented this time, with each company having its own little territory. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for gamers in general.

But srsly. Sony does do pretty good in Europe from what ive gathered. But the box and the wii are now competing pretty tough now, and even sony is kicking some butt.
