November proved to be a successful month for the Sony Playstation 3 as it won the market share from Wii and the Xbox 360. The Playstation 3 controlled 21 percent of the market share, a 9 percent jump from the month of October.
According to the NPD Group, PS3 sales quadrupled in the month of November. Shipments for all three systems doubled as sales rose because of after Thanksgiving sales and promotions.
Is the PS3 starting to gain a little momentum? With the new price cut to $399 that was introduced last month for the 40GB model, along with great software such as Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, is the PS3 is finally heading in the right direction?
Unfortunately it doesn't have many exclusives up its sleeve other than MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII and Killzone 2. It has been a little over a year now since the PS3 came out and its baby years are over. (This is the time where you really need to make yourself shine as a competent console compared to your competition, PS3.)
Once Grand Theft Auto 4 hits shelves, even though it is not an exclusive, a very large majority of the PS3 community will be getting their hands on it, no doubt boosting sales of the PS3.
But what will be a real sales booster will be Metal Gear Solid 4 if it manages to stay an exclusive upon release. It's a shame we won't be seeing either Killzone 2 or Final Fantasy XIII anytime in the near future however, Final Fantasy XIII being a definite system seller for me.
I think the PS3 is finally showing its true capabilities with up and coming games, but the question arises. If you already have a Xbox360 and over 75% of the games come out for both systems, is there really a point of getting a PS3?

PS3 is fine... now. If they would have came out day one with these price points, and had not acted like a bunch of... yea. The could easily be in the lead right now. Hell I might pick me one up next year if blu-ray wins and I can get the $100 dollar off deal. I'd buy it now if I wasn't so broke. $300 is a great price!

^ opps! I meant to say...
GTAIV helps the 360 as much as the PS3, maybe even more.
The PS3 offers a lot as a system, but I don't think ~~> "the PS3 is finally showing its true capabilities" until it is doing something more than the 360 can. There was a lot of boasting when this thing came out and it has yet to live up to that hype. They are basically even when it comes down to graphics, and that isn't good enough for the PS3.
Losing the GTA4 exclusive was a huge mistake for Sony. From what I've heard 2k was willing to go for a exclusive but Sony wouldn't even negotiate a deal. I know Sony aren't doing well financially but they should have done anything possible to secure a mega blockbuster like GTA4. Huge potential system seller even with the ps3 price tag.
^ desperately trying to win orange box, By ACCIDENTAL 0_* Posting. Lol, jk.
Anyway, i want a ps3 as much as i want my school to be open every day of the year. It has a few, FEW things going for it, but everyhting else, the 360 has. Meh, im getting a 360 first.
It's good to see the PS3 catching up to Microsoft. We need two vital platforms, and given the hostile environment that is the Wii, the PS3's really the only option for two vibrant platforms with lots of awesome games.
You're right, YukoAsho, though from the "vital platforms" perspective, it's better that the PS3 isn't as dominating as the PS1 and PS2 were.
