Auto Assault developer NetDevil announced the formation of a new web games division today. In addition, the company announced Lego Racers, its first new game. It'll be a flash-based racing game set for release in early 2008.
Lego Racers will feature several upgradable cars, a few online racing competitions and an online scoreboard. Players can also race offline through different training modes.
Speaking about Lego Racers, Scott Brown, NetDevil's president, said that while the division's first game will be aimed at kids, they're planning several other games not aimed at kids.
"We have several games planned that are not aimed at kids that we hope to announce soon. A good example of the direction that we hope to follow would be comparable to how Pixar makes movies for kids, but they are obviously still very entertaining for all ages.
We see casual game content as a key growth driver moving forward, and feel we are in a great position to bring some the world's most recognized brands and entertainment properties to new audiences."
In addition to working on a remake to their first MMO Jumpgate, NetDevil is working on Lego Universe, a MMOG that'll feature a few RPG elements along with a robust social interactivity system.

Lego Racers you say??? Legos RULE!
i remember playing lego racers on the 64, what a solid racing game, i played that over and over and over.
I think Lego Racers was probably the only pre Lego Star Wars Lego game I really enjoyed. Be nice to get back to that.
