Just in case you couldn't figure this one out on your own, it appears that there's plenty of Half-Life left in the gaming industry's future.
In a recent interview, Valve's Doug Lombardi confirmed that the series will survive beyond the upcoming Half-Life 2: Episode 3, and that should definitely make gamers happy.
"We haven’t announced anything specific, but Half-Life won’t end at Episode Three – hang on to your crowbars!" said Lombardi.
That statement is pretty unclear, however. We don't know if it means that more episodic content is on the way, or if it means that there's a full-blown Half-Life 3 on the horizon. Either way, I've got my crowbar on standby.

I know I'm hanging on to mine.
I'd rather like some details on Ep 3 before I even begin to worry about the future of the series...
Though I thought a HL3 was a foregone conclusion anyway, it's nice to hear it's more or less official.
Now let's get Ep 3 rollin'!
AFAIK, that's the biggest mystery of the moment...they've been exceedingly tight-lipped about it compared to eps 1 & 2...
Ooooo! Quite nice to hear the news! I say Gordon for president.
That is great to hear!
Gabe mentioned ages ago in an interview that Half-Life 3 and something like Counter-Strike 2 were planned.
Well, the G-Man is basically biding his time to re-capture Gordon, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least of he got his hands on Gordon at some point in Episode 3, which opens up the sequel possibilities quite a bit.
They are keeping details on ep3 secret because in ep3 Gordon takes to wearing a red frilly dress and calling himself Susan. It's very avant garde.
*waits patiently until 2015 to see if this is true*
Will this be packaged with duke nukem for-- Oh wait, that joke might not work anymore....
