We never like it when a title is delayed. The anticipation is extended, plans are reworked, and a general feeling of sadness persists for at least a day. The sting is all the more real when the game is a highly touted, much looked forward to title like LittleBigPlanet. That's right folks; LittleBigPlanet has been delayed until Fall of 2008.
The information comes from the latest issue of EGM which had LittleBigPlanet under the Fall 2008 release window. This is nothing but bad news for PS3 owners since LittleBigPlanet is going to be such an amazing weapon to add to Sony's arsenal. The ability to create levels, games, and then share them over a network similar to YouTube just sounds fantastic.
There can be many theories for why LittleBigPlanet is delayed. One could say that the game just isn't done, and if that is the case, the delay is worth it. Playing a finished game later, then a broken game earlier is something everyone would prefer.
Also LittleBigPlanet's launch could be coinciding with Sony's Home. Being that LittleBigPlanet is very community based, Sony might be trying to tightly integrate it into their online environment so that fans and developers can see the full potential of Sony's "Second Life."
Either way, it is the holidays. Don't let this disappointing news dampen the holiday cheer. With so many good games already out, and the possibility we might get to play some new ones come Christmas day should keep us plenty busy, and full of smiles well into the new year.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo /destroys all christmas presents
This game seriously makes me feel like I'm on acid....so weird.
Hm... this game made me actually look into buying a PS3. Now I will really have the time to think it through tough :)
That's a shame. I was looking forward to playing it without someone telling me how to play.
Also, I tried to be all newsy like and get in touch with SCEA and Porter Novelli to get some official responses...but everyone has taken off as of this morning for their holiday breaks. So they probably won't get back or return emails/calls for a few days at the earliest. Oh well, I tried. EGM and the PS Europe blog are both pretty credible by themselves.
II believe the PS3 will be a great buy at some point (x-mas of 08 probably), but all the people still waiting have certainly done the right thing.
Just another in a long list of delays.
Oh well. Maybe the PS3 will see a price cut before I decide to buy one. Delays like this only help my situation.
I do feel sympathy for those who already own one, though. Don't worry, guys... MGS4 is coming!
