According to trademork.com, last week Sony Computer Entertainment America filed to protect the trademark Resistance 2 in relation to their PS3 game, Resistance: Fall of Man. This should come as no surprise; the existence of a Resistance 2 is probably the worst kept secret in PS3 gaming. Is there anyone who doubts there's going to be a sequel? People have reported rumors, Insomniac has offered job positions and other tidbits hinting at Resistance 2, and we all know with how the game ended there's more to the story.
Of course, Sony and Insomniac have yet to confirm they're working on a sequel. Just admit it already, guys. You aren't fooling anyone at this point.
In case you don't recall Resistance: Fall of Man or don't own a PS3, the game was the first hit title on the PS3, and followed Nathan Hale as he and other earth forces attempted to get an alien invasion out of England. Rumors have the next game spreading to the US, but since they're just rumors we'll have to wait and see. I do know one thing, though: we probably won't be seeing any major cathedrals anytime soon.

In other news, water is wet and the sun is really, really hot.
Seriously, we knew this was coming even before the trademark.
