2008 is the year of the fantasy, Final Fantasy XIII that is. Square Enix is making a promise to give us fans all the new info regarding this epic game, along with releasing a demo of the game sometime this year. But there was no date attached to the announcement, not even a guess.
The main reason for the demo is to get the fans some hands-on experience with the new battle system.
Here are some more details that were featured in Japanese mags that were translated by fans over at FFXIII.net
-Nomura: "2008 will be the year. There will be tons of news bits, info on characters and summons, and an unexpected connection between the keywords Cocoon and Farushi.
- We're aiming for a demo to give players a hands on on the battle system.
- FF13's theme: determination.
- Farushi: Their existence surpasses humans.
- Rushi: Those chosen by Farushi to carry out a mission. The pigtail girl is a Rushi. Farushi is not the Crystal.
- Mr. 33cm is also a Rushi.
- This time summons are in digital form.
- A new monster that looks like a cross between a turtle and elephant.
- The red thing on Carbuncle's head is a ruby.
- Hint on release date: "I wonder when we'll be able to sleep..."
I still doubt this game is going to come out in 2008, but I commend Square Enix for their kindness in giving PS3 owners something to look forward to this year.

FF 12 was the best in the series so far imho, not because it was the latest or the best graphically, but it has characters that i actually cared about and the game play was never frustrating or boring. I am left wondering how 13 will top that game? The genius's at Square always come up with ways to invigorate the series.
umm, sorry jedipoodoo. I think if you and i were to meet in rl, we'd constantly disagree, lol. 12 was not a final fantasy, lacked the epic music, and the great battle system known in the series. In fact, i still am having a hard time getting into it, and i got it the day it came out. The graphics, sure, there nice, but the game play is kinda boring. now the best imo was 8. Not a typo, 8 was the best imo. i loved 7, but 8's story was straight up epic, and 4 discs??!?!?! omg, i loved it.
