According to Spanish website Meristation, a new PS3 bundle, for Europe, may be on the horizon that will include a 40 GB PS3 plus the games Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction--plus two controllers to boot.
For those of you who have been sitting on the fence, this just might be the deal that will push you over.
Meristation quotes James Armstrong, a high-ranking executive of Sony Computer Entertainment for the regions of Spain and Portugal as saying:
"This Starter Pack arrives at the appropriate moment, just after a successful campaign of Christmas [sales] that has demonstrated to us that the Spanish public is receptive our proposals and the innovating technology that PS3 offers. This new supply will let [us] grow the number of users of PlayStation 3 who will enjoy their ample supply of entertainment."
The new bundle is rumored to be ready for launch in Europe tomorrow. When Sony was contacted for confirmation about the story, it didn't deny that it wasn't going to happen but said that further details would be available later, according to Spong.
The price for the PS3 bundle is estimated to be about €499.99 ($742 US -- Hardware and video game costs are traditionally higher in Europe than in the United States. So far no word has come out about an equivalent bundle PS3 pack for North America).
If the speculation about this new Starter Pack is true, it further underscores the fact that Sony is taking huge steps in trying to increase its market share throughout the world. By including two top-notch games and two controllers in this bundle, it will definitely generate more interest for the PlayStation 3.

I'm not sure if that's a good deal price-wise for Europe. Damn strong Euro...
But still, the PS3 + the two best games on it is a great bundle. Much better than the Ultimate Alliance + Forza one we had going on for a while with the 360.
