The gaming world is waiting anxiously for the arrival of Metal Gear Solid 4. Hideo Kojima, the creator of the series has been cranking the popular franchise out for years. But Konami may have let a little secret out inadvertently while speaking to Japan's Nikkei website.
Konami president Fumiaki Tanaka revealed that Kojima is working on a new game that has nothing to do with Metal Gear Solid. The information immediately posed questions on what sort of game he was working on but Tanaka said he couldn't review any further details on the project and that a formal announcement wouldn't be coming this year.
Most likely we won't really hear any more information about this new game project until the dust settles after Metal Gear Solid 4 is released to the public sometime in June.
Until then the rumor mills will be spinning wildly until the official word comes out from Konami.

One game at a time for me(but with GTA4, ninja gaiden 2, and metal gear it is hard to focus). Metal gear will be huge when it comes out. I'm stoked about that. But wow, what an announcement.
Wasn't Kojima saying a while back that he'd like to see more realism in reactions to pain in violent games? And a generally grittier, more true-to-life portrayal of combat and killing?
Call me sick, but I'm really eager to see a game that dares to go there. If you think of war movies, the best ones make violence meaningful. People don't lurch over and groan when they're shot in the stomach, they bleed out while crying and praying and screaming for help. Let's see a Mature game that really is for mature audiences.

Interesting, DiscO. I'm on board 100%.
