It seems that the eventual progression of any hit video game is to have its own special edition released. Call of Duty 4 is no exception to the rule and Activision has announced that it will release CoD4: Game of the Year Edition sometime in April.
So what can you expect in this new edition? Of course it will have the full game, but along with that will be a token, which will allow you to download the up coming map pack for "free." If you buy the map pack separately on Xbox live it will cost you 800 Live points ($10).
What else do you get with the GotY edition? From early reports it doesn't look like you get a whole lot more. In addition to getting the next map pack you'll get new game packaging that will describe all the various awards the game has won. (Yawn)
No pricing has been announced yet but CoD4: Game of the Year Edition may be in the running for "The Least You Can Get for a Special Edition Award" this year.

How about... ...an expansion? A new version that gives you a few maps. WOW!!!!!!!!! they're gonna need to do better than that. I want more singleplayer tbh, multiplayer is fine.
What about the PC version? any details on that yet?
Lopez, I think this is more to entice people who haven't already got the game.
:( We can live to dream though kester.
Well, I don't have COD4. And this entices me...
