The Atari saga continues as it fights to survive and live on as a game company.
Previously, NASDAQ informed Atari in December of last year that if it didn't maintain a certain market value for 10 straight consecutive business days, $15 million to be specific, it would be delisted from the rosters of the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Delistings often mean the company backing the stocks is on their way down or is going out of business.
In the meantime, Atari is asking for a hearing before the NASDAQ Qualifications Panel to appeal its move to drop Atari because of the recent proposal by Infogrames to buy up all of Atari's shares.
Atari has a faltering lineup of games in its library with the Dragonball Z franchise shoring up the sagging Atari brand while the rest of its portfolio being average at best. For Atari to succeed, it will have to step up its efforts in providing new and exciting IPs which will give the brand name new luster and recognition with gamers.

"I want pac man with guns, kinda like shadow had, man that game was great."
Hi, I'm lskennedy, dont worry, that last statement was not true at all, its what professionals call acting, in this scenario, i was acting as if though shadow the hedgehog was a good game, but dont worry folks, i haven't even played the game, because its supposedly that abysmal.
What atari really needs to do is just re-issue the 2600. Seriously. Put out a new 2600 with a better joystick for a hundred bucks. Then sell games together on a disc, you could bundle 10 games together and sell it for 50 dollars. Do you know how many people would scoop that up. You'd be surprised how many people just want to play asteroids or pac-man on their new systems.
Atari could clean up if they just tried hard enough.
That is one good idea. The re-release would clean up on the casual gaming crowd. Added to that were games that were made for the Atari 400 and 800 computers and the Atari 5200. Now if they could squeeze all that into one console, that would be cool.
