At Midway's Gamer's Day in Vegas, they made an announcement that instantly changed the order of my "Games I Want to Buy Most" list: the next Mortal Kombat will feature DC Comics heroes. So far, the only confirmed characters are Batman and Sub-Zero, but really, do you need any more? A DC vs MK game has always been one of my dream mash-ups, and now it's a reality.
Outside of the inclusion of DC, little is known about the project other than it won't contain the traditional Mortal Kombat fatalities. (DC doesn't want Batman or Superman being torn apart, I suppose; no word on the less-fatal -alities.) Who wouldn't give up fatalties for a chance to have Batman kick Scorpion's ass, though? Even with no real information on the game, I'm going to go ahead and say it's going to be the most badass game of whatever year it comes out in even if I can't rip someone's spine out through their nose.
You can check out an awesome teaser site here (featuring a nice little staredown between Bats and Sub-Zero), and watch the first trailer below. In the meantime, I'm off to giggle with Kyle and guess which other DC characters will make an appearance.

What. Will "Finish him!" become "Apologize to him!"? If not, and it is plenty violent,I'm on board. If it is disney like, and soft...........well, good for the kids. But I'll pass.
Dear god, is this Midway's attempt at a Marvel vs. Capcom type game? If so, count me out. I don't want to see 100+ hit combos from MK characters.
My name is Coyotegrey and I support this news item.
The video didn't look to bad, but not great... I'm reserving judgment till I see a full battle
The teaser isn't much of interest, but as cross-overs go, this one is pretty neat
I'm interested to see just how many characters from each universe will make an appearance (given Midway's usual standards, it'll end up being a cumulative large number), and I hope - considering DC is my favourite universe - each of the selected characters are done justice.
I'll keep an eye on this.
Looks pretty interesting to me
This mash up is so 90s.
Knowing midway, batman will probably be superman with a hood and a pallet swap.
wow. batman is the best!!
anyways this looks cool yo.
i wanted a dc vs marvel but 1 step at a time i guess
This fails epically. Midway is so full of half-assedness it's astounding. I won't ever buy this, if only because Midway COMPLETELY dropped the ball with MK:A and I see no reason to believe they will ever make a decent Mortal Kombat game again, let alone much else.
I hate video games, but I'm pumped for this!
Who thinks we might also get to be villains of the DCU? If so, The Joker will be my go-to-guy.
Enough of this dork talk, I'm off to comic-con.
so i watched the video, and what do i think?
It better be good! Remember people, its the game that matters, the finishimg moves were added to "Pusht he envelope"
