Social interaction is becoming more and more a part of gaming today. Where previously console games had a max player limit of two, now games like Warhawk can put 32 players in one game over the good old Internet. While large multiplayer games are still a fairly recent development for consoles, PC gamers have been doing that for quite some time.
I would say that most people play their games online, the birth of Live in conjunction with high speed Internet really helped move that technology. But everyone does that. I want to know about actual human interaction.
Do you ever get a bunch of people over for a LAN party?
Some of the best times I've had with my friends where on nights where there were a couple of Xbox's and a couple of televisions crammed into a teeny tiny apartment. While playing online with your friends is great, being able to hear someone yelling in the other room when you pull off a headshot from across the map is far more satisfying. And having everyone in the same place is the only possible way the night can end with a 1v1 capture the flag tournament at Beaver Creek because everyone else is asleep.
Last year GameNight was a weekly event at my apartment. Anywhere between 4 and 8 people got together and just played games until all hours of the morning. It has since fallen off because I moved and have fewer Xbox's and televisions because of it. I really miss the human interaction and I just wanted to know who else is in my boat.

Never done it.
Do it quite often: UTIII especially. My first LAN was Doom II.
Not often, unless it's a 1v1 RTS game with my brother.
Last time I had a LAN was with UT with school a few years ago.
I used to, a long time ago for Warcraft 3 and Starcraft and CS, but not in the last 5 or so years.
I used too all the time during college and High School... We mostly played starcraft because everyones hardware varied far too much... My last year of college was a UT:Gotye year in my apartment... that was also the year I got my first Wireless card... 8 players, no hub or switch is kinda nice...
Last, and one of only 2-3 times I've ever LAN'ed, was when my bro bought his computer home from uni last year. That was pretty much it.
The closest i used to get was system linking original Xbox...fun times....
I used to play games on Lan all the time at school. After that I moved on to system linking xboxs and then after that I've had a few Lans with 6-8 people at peoples houses.
No.
Except at school once at christmas. All the IT classes got to play quake against each other.
Me and my friends get together a few times a month for a lan. Usually here at my house as we "converted" my garage into a decent place to sleep. We don't really play all together that often though, some will play wow, and I will just do whatever.
we lan generally once a month, but it depends on when we actually game, we have too many wow fags (thats what we call some of our friends who all they do is wow)
QUAKE 3 omfg GOOD TIMES
Rarely. With all the newfangled chat programs and this "internet" thingy, my friends and I just "log in" for this tye of stuff these days.
Daily on the school computers, we play halo PC, Counter-Strike, Age of empires and Warcraft III.
Rarely, console Lan is easier so, yeah.
Used to LAN at peoples places every now and then, nowadays I only really do it for massive LAN events with competitions and what not.
With broadband you can just stay at home and, using mics, have the same experience.
Love LAN. Except its hard to organize. I did it for my birthday party a few years, and some of my other friends did the same.
