If the cake is a lie, then what is a homebrew DS game that is based on that fallacious, yet delectable dessert?
Indie game developer T4ils has released a scaled-down adaptation of Valve's hit first-person puzzle game, Portal, for the Nintendo DS. The stylus-controlled game is entitled StillAliveDS, and it requires players to use the touch screen capabilities of the system to manipulate portals and navigate a number of two-dimensional stages on their way to the greatest reward of them all -- cake.
If the initial stages aren't enough for die-hard Portal fanatics, T4ils has developed a custom level editor for the game, which is available for download on the StillAliveDS website, as well. Using the editor, players can not only create and play their own levels, but also share them with other cake-lovers via the handheld's wifi connection.
For more information on how to get set up with StillAliveDS, visit DS Fanboy's (semi) ultimate homebrew guide.

If only I had a DS
If only I had a flash-cart. Bah.
i have a ds...and a flash cart!!!!
it looks like crap 2 me
dont get me wrong, i loved portal but this just looks like a overpixalized lagfest with a faint theme of portal
I wish I didn't sell my DS and bought a PSP, then sold the psp and bought a laptop that can play portal PC..
Oh wait....
Played this a couple nights ago, and it's actually a really polished piece of homebrew. Gameplay is smooth and graphics are professional and clear, and it does capture the physics and gameplay of portal really well for a one-man job.
Don't hesitate to download this one if you've got the prerequisite equipment. If you don't, but want to know a little more about the DS homebrew scene, feel free to PM me and I'll help you get things sorted out. A good flashcart with memory can be had for under 50 bucks.
Must... Invest... In... Flash cart...
