According to producer Jun Takeuchi, the next installment in Capcom's survival horror franchise is more than halfway through the development cycle. At Capcom's Captivate 2008 event last week, he had this to say to members of the press:
"Right now, in the development process we're about 60 percent of the way through. We're figuring that the total play time in the game will be over 20 hours. As you can probably see from the trailer there's a lot of different content and materials in the game for you to enjoy."
The trailer he is referring to hit the internet last week, and certainly reveals many more aspects of the game than earlier clips did. We now know for certain that the game will take place somewhere in Africa, and that Chris will at least be in contact with a new leading lady, if not working directly alongside her.
This is shaping up to be a painstaking wait for fans, because even at 60% completion, Capcom still has Resident Evil 5 scheduled for a 2009 release.
