Play Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii games on your PC?

trioxideMarketing research firm, Intellisponse, evidently "leaked" some information to the public about a product named Trioxide which would enable PCs to play games from the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii with their respective controllers.

According to the info, there were two price points for Trioxide--one for $49 and the other $299. The big price difference suggests that one may be a software emulation program while the other is hardware based.

The product description from Intellisponse states:

"Introducing the ability to play the latest console games (i.e. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, etc.) on your PC. Many of these games are only available on consoles today and with this new feature would now be available on the PC as well. With this new feature those console games are now playable on your PC! Uses the same game controllers as the original console system (all games use regular console controllers, not your computer keyboard or mouse.)"

Whether this is a project concept, something in development or just wishful thinking, it's all up for speculation. But if Trioxide does exist, the product will definitely get a stern stare from Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, which will probably mean lawsuits from the big three...unless of course, they're in on this deal.

Also, if such a product were really available, would PC gamers buy the product?

It's probably just a glorified video capture device. I've been able to play my consoles on my PCs for years with those.

Hmm, wouldn't this hurt sales of the 3 consoles? I mean I guess the software sales would remain the same but console sales would be hurting, if this indeed is the same experience as playing it on a tv.

I can't recall the legal history behind the Bleem! device that was made to emulate Dreamcast games on PC, it might be interesting to look that up and recall what the legal standing on that was while the DC was still available at retail.

well, i was under the impression that console sales didnt really gather much cash for sony, microsoft, (maybe nintendo get a lot of profit) but they rely more on their software sales anyway, if it was tried and tested id deffo splash out on one.

You could... download.... games from availible on consoles(even 360 etc) to your pc anyway... I don't trioxide will be that successful, it would be cheaper to buy the consoles itself maybe...

That seems to be about the size of it. It's all marketing BS. Anyone can play all console games designed for TV display through a capture card in a PC. The only way this would be noteworthy is if it's optimized to go from the card's video input to the PC monitor without significant lag.

wow pc already have games downloads but i say this is not a smart idea unless they pay sony ms and nintendo money to have this on it or this might never see the light of day.

This is never going to happen lol. Nice dream.

I can see the big three putting a end to that quickly

It would be pretty hard to emulate a different platform on a PC, just look at the insane requirements for the ps2 emulator, What I'm saying is, when something sounds too good to be true, it just might be.

Although if this was real, I would be at the store buying GTA4 right now...
