Xbox 360 fans are loyal. So loyal, in fact, that they've cared little about the Red Ring Of Death (RROD) issues that seem to be an ailment for almost every 360 out there. Or so Microsoft says.
Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Group leader, Robbie Bach, stated in an interview with VentureBeat that the RROD issue, while costly, did not disrupt customer loyalty. He stated that, throughout this whole process, preference, willingness to recommend, and satisfaction has not faltered.
"The number-one complaint I get from people is that it is taking you too long to fix the console," Bach stated, and although some have gone through three or four consoles, they still remain loyal to Microsoft's services, happy to hear that Microsoft is aiding those who are suffering. All still according to Microsoft themselves, of course.
Bach ended his interview with an answer to a comment stating that the PS3 is finally on its feet, "If not being on life support is the metric for success, then I guess they're successful."
There is something fishy here. At this point, it just seems as if Microsoft is either covering up the whole issue with a bed sheet and tossing it in the closet, or they are just patting themselves on the back in the spirit of generating propaganda for their products. Perhaps it's just me, but I find it a bit arbitrary to simply state what their customers are thinking. Needless to say, this feeling of loyalty to the Microsoft brand name in the face of serious console design flaws is simply not there. Plenty of people I know have received the RROD and have switched over to PS3. Not everyone is satisfied with just knowing that Microsoft does give a damn.
At this point, it's only a question of when Microsoft will figure this out.

They make it as if there's a huge line of 360 owners, waiting to suck Mr.Gates off.
Sad thing is there probably is. As long as gates decides to fix their console again.
Well, I'm still using mine...
My friend just lost his first console to the RROD, and he ended up going out and buying an Elite. Go figure.
I know he's not alone, either. I did it, a couple other kids I know did the same thing.
They're not entirely off-base, but giving themselves entirely too much credit all the same, I'm sure.
When the next one comes out, I'm going to wait it out and see just how long it lasts before the first reports come in that it breaks.
Love that article image ^_^
It's not that I don't care. Sure I do. But once I had invested into the console, peripherals and 20 games, I'm not about to shove everything into a closet because of a defect covered under warranty. I sure as hell wasn't a bit happy when it happened.
why would they xbox fans never would emit that there system sucks just like i would not say the first xbox dosen't suck.
What?
When I had to buy a replacement (warranty was over over) after the one I just back from repair broke a six months later, I was p*ssed off. But as cobra said, I had too much invested in it not to. Besides, I will be happy with my consoles until I find out if the next gen is reliable.
I hate when people don't admit their mistakes.
If I were to buy a 360 I would rent all my games (so I don't end up spending a bunch of money), and would wait to see if I'm going to get the red ring. If I got it I would seriously consider going with Sony.
mine hasent had a RROD yet, but if it dose, so what, you get it fixed
