New Sonic Unleashed trailer looks good

So I'm not surprised that another Sonic game is gracing our consoles this fall, but am I excited for it? Initially no, I mean trust me the series was great right until the Dreamcast died, then I believe the series died with it.
It was on top of the world on the Genesis and Game Gear but something about holding down forward and jumping once in awhile just doesn't have that same appeal like it used it.
No interest or appeal, until I saw this trailer. Even though essentially all you do is hold down forward and jump once in awhile, they did add quick button presses and different camera angles.
I give Sega a thumbs up for this level in particular. The city-scape looks great and the frame rate doesn't appear to dip, even when going as fast as Sonic. Let's hope they keep the fun level high in every level and avoid repetition unlike many previous Sonic games.

Whilst the visuals have raised my apathetic 'meh' to a slightly intrigued 'meh', the gameplay looks very uninvolved.
Look it's sonic blowin' shit up!
Personally I think sonic should be 2d only, or a 3d side scroller.

This is looking good, haven't had a good sonic game since sonic adventure, but I bet this fails in sales as from the bad rep from all of the recent sonic games. :(
I don't see the harm in rebirthing some classic gameplay every once in a while. If they keep things fresh, and offer up some novel challenges throughout the levels, it might be enough to keep the run/jump basics engaging.
Is it just me, or is that music horrible?
Last good Sonic game was Adventure 2
Wow, that's super, super fast. If they keep that level of speed and have so much going on, then that should be a really awesome, fun game.

Looks okay. Though I guess those graphics will be toned down somewhat for the Wii. As always...
