According to John Riccitiello, BioWare's MMO is scheduled to be released between April 2010 and April 2011. That's a long time from now isn't it? I won't complain as long as BioWare is focusing on other games as well. To create a whole new universe is a pretty daunting task, and if you are out to make a spectacular MMO (which I no doubt think it will be), polish and balance is key.
It has been rumored that the project is a Star Wars MMO, in specific, KOTOR. In his talk with the William Blair and Company during an investor conference, Riccitiello mentioned the BioWare MMO is "new intellectual property", and while one would think that this would kill the KOTOR MMO rumor outright, Eurogamer made an interesting point when they stated that while "Star Wars and KOTOR are hardly new, they would be new to EA."
Until we start hearing more about this secret project, everything seems to be just rumors floating around on the internet. Do you think a new Star Wars MMO would make BioWare and EA succesful if they get it done right? Damn, EA would be swimming in even more money if this is in fact true, coupled with the positive fan reaction of EA Mythic's Warhammer Online, they'd be running the money train all the way to money town! Ok I'll stop.

I Hope for EA-Bioware's sake that this is not a KOTOR MMO. KOTOR isn't a new IP either. New to EA or not its not a new IP. I can see something completely new or perhaps another IP MMO like Mass Effect. I wouldn't mind that as much.
