As E3 and Comic-Con approach, one guilty pleasure I'm looking forward to seeing (and trying, Midway?) in action is the upcoming DC vs Mortal Kombat game. Last night, SpikeTV revealed exclusive gameplay clips and information for the game, showing two new characters, and a sampling of the types of moves some of DC's finest will be using. (And some that MK's combatants will use, for those of you curious if your favorite moves will make the cut.)
With the video, we learn several attacks for the DC characters.
Superman: Seismic-toss, ice breath, groundpound, laser eyes
Batman: Boomerang
Flash: Whirlwind spin, teleport (by running off screen one way and returning from the other, basically running around the world)
In addition, there's a really cool moment where Superman tackles Shang Tsung through a wall. If you want to check it out, you can view the segment on GameTrailers here. Does it make DC vs MK look like the greatest game ever? No, but I'd bet most people want to try it at least once, even if they won't admit it. (I'm looking at you, Kyle.)
Along with the new video, this past week marked the launch of the MKast, a new weekly podcast by Midway talking about the game and interviewing special guests behind it.You can find it at the Worlds Collide website.
i dunno i still have doubt about this game. the footage was cool but.. :P
Dare I say it? That looked... good? I especially enjoyed seeing Superman smashing Sub-Zero through several buildings.
If I had the greens I'd reserve it. Batman vs. Johnny Cage is far too amazing to be missed.
Could it be true? It did look good, Garcian. Please, Midway, give us a demo. If it is good, you will have secured who knows how many pre orders, mine included. Why do I still smell fail?
The reason why people smell fail? It's because of change. ALot of people fear that the game wont be good because of a lack of 3 to 4 second cut scenes known as fatalities. The reason i play the game, like i thought many people do, is to get a good fighting game. One of my favorite games is Mortal Kombat 2, and i love it because it's solid controls and balanced characters. Now, the only thing i fear is if some characters will be too strong. Superman has the ability to run fast (Syndel) bring enemies close to him (Scorpion) And freeze enemies (sub-zero), that seems a lil much for one character.
all in all, i want it.
When has Superman ever been about being fair? He's ALWAYS overpowered. He's SUPERMAN!
Still looks like crap compared to SoulCalibur.
/amen raven lol. I used to think MK was superior, til i played SC2 for the cube. to quote bob marley "Could this be love?"
How can u even compare MK to SC?
