Besides the fact that Fallout 3 still looks as amazing as ever, we were treated with a video that shows its unique gameplay mechanics. It looks as if you can switch between first and third person view, the latter being the default.
The physics and lighting look amazing as our character shoots off an enemy's arm in a shower of blood and gore.
We saw the PIP BOY 3000, and its skills, stats and perks that are associated with it. Also the player had the bloody mess perk activated, which makes people explode in gobs of blood. He turned on the radio in the PipBoy to listen while walking.
The game will feature over 100 hours of gameplay and the ability to go and explore almost every building you cross. The VAT system is a mechanic where you are allowed to pause the game and choose which body part you want to focus on when shooting. You can choose to take that route or have straight up live combat, or a mix of both.
Something exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game will be a substantial amount of downloadable content.
Stay tuned for more info on Fallout 3 during E3 week.

Was the video intentionally about Resident Evil? I was expecting Fallout.
Frank has dyslexia, and sometimes puts his Q's where his R's should go, and his RE5 vids where his Fallout 3 vids should go. These two videos got mixed up.
Hah. Go away for vacation for a week, and the mind goes kablooie.
Mine goes Kazooie.
Nice
It looks good, but it sure as heck doesn't look like Fallout.
Gotta agree. Just looks like Oblivion in a modern settings with V.A.T.S.
I'm extremely disappointed.
May i ask just what did you expect?
Sure. I was expecting stats to be more important in the game. Right now in Fallout 3, it comes down to who has the bigger gun. You can no longer explore situations in ways you couldn't through conversation, which was a big part of the first two. The models also look a little funny in VATS. You have to realize though, my "extreme disappointment" is not going to completely kill the game for me, just make sure it doesn't get anything higher than a 7/10 out of me. Things could change, who knows?
I was expecting more than one color, for starters. Is gray the new muddy brown?
