Yes, this gaming company mash-up borders on ridiculous...
The latest from Activision Blizzard is that the mega-publisher may be ready to sell off Vivendi subsidiary Sierra Entertainment. Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said Monday:
"We are focused on improving efficiency across the combined organization and are concentrating on businesses where we have leadership positions that are aligned with Activision Publishing's long-term corporate objectives."
He went on to talk about existing Vivendi intellectual properties, and Activision Blizzard's plans to move forward (or not) with them:
"We have conducted a thorough review of Vivendi Games' brand portfolio and are retaining those franchises and titles that are a strong fit with our long-term product strategy. We are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing."
Specific properties Griffith mentioned include Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ice Age, and Prototype, all of which will avoid the corporate axe.
