Late last year a game was released that let everyone live out their rockstar fantasies, without all of the sex and drugs (...yeah, we were disappointed about the omission too). Guitar Hero featured perhaps the greatest peripheral that had ever been released exclusively for a game and some fantastic songs from power rock greats like as Black Sabbath plus great blues artists like as Stevie Ray Vaughan. Any way you look at it, Guitar Hero was one of the most innovative and enjoyable titles to be released last year. And now Red Octane (recently acquired by Activision) is bringing back everyone,s favorite rock star simulator with Guitar Hero 2.
Bringing more of the same rocking action that made the first game so great, Guitar Hero 2 adds more songs of all genres. The list of songs includes KISS, "Strutter," Van Halen,s "You Really Got Me," and the Butthole Surfers, "Who Was in My Room Last Night."
New modes include a practice mode to help newbies learn their way to stardom by picking a segment of any certain song and looping it to help get the motions down. There is also now a Co-Op mode where a second player can pick up another guitar and play rhythm, lead or bass guitar.
It,s everything you loved from the first game and more, so why aren,t you excited for this game? Well that,d better change quickly; Guitar Hero 2 rocks, and it,s something that all gamers should at least attempt once in their lifetime.
