Sony introduces 'Only on PSN'

Rochard

Microsoft has found plenty of success with its yearly Summer of Arcade, and now Sony is looking to try something similar with a new program called "Only on PSN."

Starting tomorrow on October 4, new titles exclusive to the PlayStation Network will be available for download every week throughout the month. The first two games in the lineup will be Eufloria and Rochard. Closing things out will be inFAMOUS 2: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller on October 25.

Sony is also offering a couple of special deals in light of this news. Firstly, all PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a 20 percent discount on each game during the first week of its availability. In addition, anyone who spends over $60 on PSN in October will get an additional $10 in November.

A series of rare PlayStation 2 titles will also be available on PSN starting tomorrow. They include God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red. So if anyone’s been saving up money in their wallets on PSN, now would probably be a good time to use it.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
