Watch_Dogs Delayed to 2014

The game is indeed a next-gen title.

Via their online UbiBlog, Ubisoft announced today that Watch_Dogs, the upcoming open-world action game originally slated as a next-gen launch title, has been delayed to the spring of 2014.

The blog cites polish as the main reason for the delay, saying ” As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

While this is sure to affect many gamers’ next-generation plans (especially those who wanted to purchase a Watch_Dogs PS4 bundle),  we still like to consider the wisdom of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto: “a delayed game is eventually good, while a bad game is bad forever.” The longer wait is disappointing, but if it means a higher quality game, it’s not hard to understand.

We’ll have more on new Watch_Dogs release information as it is revealed.

Jason lives and breathes gaming. Legend tells that he taught himself to read using Wheel of Fortune Family Edition on the NES. He's been covering this industry for three years, all with the Node, and you can see his ugly mug once a week on Hot Off The Grill.
