Activision reveals Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

Activision has confirmed the title of its next music game as Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The debut trailer was posted this morning on GameTrailers. In the video, characters from former Guitar Hero games can be seen being transformed into monstrous versions of themselves. From what I can tell, Activision and developer Neversoft are going for a Brütal Legend inspired fantasy look for the game. Groovy.

According to the official press release at, the game will feature the following upgrades:

– All-New Story-Based Quest Mode Voiced By KISS Front Man, Gene Simmons
– Biggest On-Disc Selection of Rock Music Ever In A Guitar Hero® Game
– New Challenges to Every Song in the 500+ Track Guitar Hero Music Library
– Finger-Fretting, Rock-Inspired Wireless Guitar Controller

So far, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is planned for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. No word yet on a PlayStation 2 version, though I’m guessing Activision is ready to move on from the aging platform. Check out the initial tracklist and trailer below.
