Master Chief relives the past in Halo 4 ‘Scanned’ launch trailer

The “Scanned” launch trailer for Halo 4, from “Fight Club” and “The Social Network” director David Fincher, sees Master Chief going through quite the CGI flashback at the behest of a mysterious Promethean.

The trailer, which aired on TV last night during “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, shows a handful of grim scenes from Chief’s past, including his childhood, and his painful induction into the Spartan program. Finally, there’s a bit of action with Chief taking on a pack of Prometheans.

The cinematic prowess is owed to visual effects lead Tim Miller, responsible for “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”

Halo 4
sees Master Chief and Cortana touch down on the planet Requiem, populated by the Promethean’s who have more than a passing connection to the series’ Forerunner race of old. Just what the Promethean’s are, and what they want with Chief, remains to be seen.

Halo 4 launches worldwide on November 6, so you can find out then. In the meantime, check out the full length launch trailer below.
